We've Been Boo-ed

Adam and I have been in our new house for a few days now, and as I was leaving this morning I noticed we had a Halloween bucket, wrapped in cellophane, with chocolate dipped pretzels in it.  The card attached read "you've been boo-ed"!  I have seen this before and thought it was the funnest idea and a very creative way to get the neighborhood in the Halloween spirit.  I live for the holidays and love decorating for them.  Fall is my absolute favorite season of the year...cool crisp weather, sweaters, hot chocolate, and cozy nights by the fire.

Below I copied a super fun version of We've Been Boo-ed by Frugal Life Project.  Visit their blog for free printables.

R is for Baby Ridge

One of my very best friends is having her first baby, and I am so privileged to be a part of this fun and exciting time.  We are all very anxious to meet little "bear", which is the nickname mom to be has given him.  He will be the most loved gift from God, and is blessed to have Karyn and Matt as his parents.

Baby Ridge's room is alphabet themed, so we decided to continue the ABC theme for the baby shower.  I found the cutest mantle decoration from pen n' paperflowers I bought white onesies and then cut out the letters to spell Ridge.  The color board I used was chocolate, turquoise, tan, and cream.  Tissue pom poms were made to accompany the onesie banner to give it a little flare.

The guest had a variety of yummy appetizers to choose from.  Alphabet Tomato Soup, Smoked Turkey Salad Sandwiches from Burge's, ABC petit fours from Ed's Bakery, along with hummus dip, vegetable and fruit trays, cheese and crackers, and fabulous brie made by Karyn's long time high school friend.  Also, no shower would be complete without a little punch and mimosas.

Name cards for the food were made out of card stock and embellished with brads.  This was similar to the theme for the invitations.

An extra note was added to the back of the invitations, encouraging guest to bring a copy of their favorite childhood book.  Baby Ridge received a variety of children classics to help him grow into a bright young boy.

JUST GO WITH IT

I have always had a passion for throwing dinner parties, birthday parties, baby showers, wedding showers, football watch parties, and anything else under the sun that gets people together.  The creative thinking behind each event is something that always makes me giddy.  I take pride in seeing the joy in people's faces when they see what they have envisioned come to life.  This is a new journey I am starting....so just go with it, why not.  I will post events on the blog so please check back often, and if you have any questions or would like Amy Reed Events to style your next party, please contact me at anreed30@yahoo.com
